Join the Celebration!

America’s Thanksgiving Parade® presented by Gardner-White is set to go as a live televised-only production in the heart of downtown Detroit. The Parade is an eagerly anticipated holiday tradition, uniting families throughout metro Detroit and the world!

As producers, The Parade Company developed a creative and thoughtful approach to continue the 94-year tradition during these unprecedented times. This year’s format is designed to capture the imaginations of millions watching from home and will not have spectators in the compressed footprint. Themed We Are One Together this year’s parade will honor frontline workers and heroes of the COVID-19 crisis.

If you have always dreamed of being in the Parade, here is your chance to be a part of one of the oldest and most cherished traditions in Detroit!

To volunteer, simply:

Please choose your top 3 preferred positions. If you wish to rank your positions, you can do so in the comment section on the form.

All volunteers must fill out the application in order to participate and must be at least 16 years of age with a parent/guardian. (Volunteers who are 18+ can volunteer alone.) Some positions are not open to the public and require prior experience with The Parade. Be sure to read the 2020 Parade Job Descriptions and requirements before submitting your application.

All volunteers will be required to wear a mask and social distance during the Parade.

If you are more of a “behind the scenes” type, we have a role for you, too. We need volunteers to help build and paint floats. We can take up to 5 volunteers per day.  Whatever you are looking to do we can use your help.  Volunteers must be at least 18 years old to help in our Studio.

If you are a new volunteer and would like to help build and paint floats, please complete our General Volunteer Application.  Once you do so you will be put into the volunteer database and begin to receive the bi-monthly volunteer newsletter and upcoming volunteer opportunities including Art Studio help and many other great events!

If you are interested in volunteering for America’s Thanksgiving Parade® presented by Gardner-White, you must also complete the Parade online application.
