If you have always dreamed of being in the Parade, here is your chance to be a part of one of the oldest and most cherished traditions in Detroit! Sign up to volunteer for America’s Thanksgiving Parade ® presented by Gardner-White on November 25!

We welcome individuals, families, groups, and students looking for a fun and unforgettable way to spend Thanksgiving! All volunteers must fill out the application in order to participate and must be at least 16 years of age with a parent/guardian. (Volunteers who are 18+ can volunteer alone.) Some positions are not open to the public and require prior experience with The Parade. Be sure to read the 2021 Parade Job Descriptions and requirements before submitting your application.

If you are more of a “behind the scenes” type, we have a role for you, too. We need volunteers to help build and paint floats and help sew in our costumes. We can take up to 8 volunteers per day in our studio.

The Parade Company is also looking for volunteers to fill a wide variety of roles for our fabulous events, such as the Ford Fireworks and Hob Nobble Gobble presented by Ford.  Whatever you are looking to do we can use your help. Every volunteer receives appropriate training, makes long-lasting friendships, receives rewards for hours worked, and has the opportunity to create smiles for many!

To volunteer, please complete our General Volunteer Application.  Once you do so you will be put into the volunteer database and begin to receive the bi-monthly volunteer newsletter and upcoming volunteer opportunities including Art Studio help and many other great events! Volunteers must be at least 18 years old and fully vaccinated to help with indoor events.

If you are interested in volunteering for America’s Thanksgiving Parade® presented by Gardner-White, you must also complete the Parade online application.

Are you a part of an organization, company, or group of friends that would like to volunteer in our Parade Studio or help with events? We have many group volunteer opportunities!!  Contact to schedule a volunteer day!

Please note: The Covid-19 vaccination is required for all volunteers and applicants who wish to help with our indoor events.

The Parade has been an eagerly anticipated holiday tradition, uniting families throughout metro Detroit and the world! It is a celebration of family spirit and storybook wonder. With billowing balloons, fantastic floats, marching bands, colorful costumes, and clowns, America’s Thanksgiving Parade®   presented by Gardner-White symbolizes the joy and magic of the holiday season.
