November 27, 2014

We are pleased to announce that America’s Thanksgiving Parade® presented by Art Van will travel the traditional full length of Woodward Avenue from Kirby to Congress (south of Campus Martius)! There are three areas that the Parade will “pinch” or “narrow” as it travels southbound for its 88th magical year!

The first “pinch point,” is from Putnam to Warren Ave. on the west side of Woodward. Sidewalks and viewing on the west side of the street in this area will be obstructed. The Parade will travel on the east side of Woodward Ave. Grandstand seats and curbside viewing are available in front of the Detroit Institute of Arts on the east side of the street.

The second “pinch point” is from Alexandrine to Watson on the east side of Woodward. The Parade will travel on the west side of Woodward Ave. in this area and there will be curbside viewing on the west side of the street.

The third “pinch point” is located from Winder to Montcalm on the west side of Woodward and includes the I-75 overpass and ends in front of Hockey Town Cafe. Sidewalks and viewing will be closed to the public in this area. The Parade will travel on the east side of Woodward Ave. with viewing areas on the east side of Woodward, but will not be allowed on the I-75 overpass. Grandstand seating in the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan Detroit Blue Zone in front of Comerica Park is available for prime viewing!

All “pinch point” areas will be completed at Montcalm and Woodward, the site of Hockey Town Cafe. The remainder of the route is open and construction free.

Please come down; run the Fifth Third Turkey Trot; enjoy America’s Thanksgiving Parade® presented by Art Van; and take in all the amazing progress in our great city!
